BEC BARTELL

Bec Bartell is a self-taught artist based in Perth WA. Her work reflects a love of the natural world of plants, animals and nature. Inspired by the Dutch Golden Age and Baroque paintings of detailed still life against a dark background and the use of realistic light effects, Bec uses local flora, birds and everyday household items to create her unique works.

Bec grew up with a love of animals, nature and coastal landscapes. Art has always been a part of her life in some way shape or form, originally through crafting and quilting. She had always felt the desire to learn how to paint and so she began teaching herself. Since 2015 her reputation as a painter has grown, her work now represented by galleries and in many private collections.
